The other day Addie wanted to have a water balloon fight. I told her we didn’t have any water balloons but she assured me that regular balloons would work. They won’t but I didn’t know it at the time.
We stood out at the hose forever it seemed. She filled the balloons and I tied them. One we got them all done, throwing them at each other wouldn’t break them. They were too thick. They would break when they hit the ground.
She held one on her head and was trying to poke it with a stick but then decided that wasn’t safe because the stick might slip and go through her “soft spot”. She obviously remembers that from when her 9 month old cousin was a baby.
She ended up lining all the balloons up on the ground and jumping on them to break them.
It happened to be 111.4 at 3:25 p.m. so playing in the water was fun . . even for Granny. Our water is always cold coming out of the faucet so we squirted each other down and enjoyed every minute of it.
It’s been well over 100 degrees every day for probably the past 8 days. Friday night I wanted to spray iron supplements on the okra and at 8 p.m., it was still 101 degrees. I ended up giving up and got up early Saturday morning and did it. It is definitely hot these days.

That is hot. Does Addie like the heat? Seems like she is having lots of fun there.

There are water balloons that are quick filling via a tube setup. I’m sure they are available at Walmart.
What happened to the doll closets? Did you paint them and did Addie like them? Or is that next week’s activity??

And only getting more hot as time goes on! August is yet to come!

I hope the humidity isn’t bad. I don’t mind baking, but I hate a sauna! The cold hose water was a wonderful way to combat the heat.
