Saturday night is usually pizza night and I often make two big pizzas so we’ll have leftovers during the week. Vince can eat cold pizza any time! I use King Arthur’s Sourdough Crust recipe, even though I also love Peter Reinhart’s pizza dough recipes. I almost always am looking for ways to use up extra sourdough starter and King Arthur’s recipe is about as easy and forgiving as it gets.
We supervised while Addie put her pizza in the pizza oven. She thought that was a pretty cool way to cook pizza.
I put all the toppings in bowls – grated mozzarella, mozzarella pearls, sliced onions, crumbled feta, sliced green olives, sliced black olives, turkey pepperoni, fresh basil, sliced tomatoes and sauce. I divided the dough into three crusts so everyone got to make their own pizza, with the agreement that we would all share. Addie wanted only black olives and cheese so she used both mozzarella cheeses. Vince added feta to his so that meant no one else wanted any of it.
Mine was basically a margherita pizza – fresh basil and tomatoes from the garden.
The good news is that we end this week with leftover Shepherd’s Pie, smoked ribs, smoked pulled pork, pizza and steak in the fridge. I see very little cooking in my future for the next few days.

It is really getting too hot to cook inside or out! I think I may start doing the cereal at night thing!! And maybe just some fruits.

Another good memory for Addie!

Hmm, that’s a potential Christmas present for Addie (and the family!). Did any of the kids cooking kits talk about making pizza?
