Addie wakes up wanting to go to the mail box so she can drive the RTV.
We had an extra passenger today!
Who can guess how hard it’s going to be to get in that RTV and drive down to the mail box alone once Addie and her dolls are gone back to Missouri? Not fun but I’m enjoying every minute of having her here.

These are memories she will never forget.

I was raised in the Northeast, in suburban NJ until my teens. We didn’t get to spend time with my grandparents. My parents handled vacations the best you can with 5 kids. We went to New England several years for two weeks at a time. The extra time with my parents and the historical places we went were unforgettable. Cape Cod was probably a favorite, Plymouth Rock, the beach. John Aldridge’s home, the beach, the air that smelled like ocean and pine trees was wonderful. We went there two years in a row. We did also spend a vacation with a Mennonite woman in PA who opened her home to 1-2 families at a time in the Lancaster area. I associated with her as a grandmother figure, I cried when it was time to go.You just never know what exposure over summer vacation will provide to a child. I am sure Addie is as happy as a lark.

What wonderful vacations! I would have loved those vacations. I’ve never really traveled and would love to spend time in New England. How neat to get to live with a Mennonite woman. I’d probably do that now if given a chance.

Addie will remember this summer, but so will you. All your times of wanting to be with her a lot have finally come to fruition, and you have had as much fun, and memory-making, as she has!

I really have enjoyed every minute of it. I will enjoy a bit of resting when she’s gone but I am going to miss her so much!

I’m having trouble deciding who is luckier: Addie and Gran/Grumps. 😉 I bet you’d give up the entire garden if you had to choose between time with Addie and the crops.
So glad you get to enjoy this time together. “We shall never pass this way again”.

The very best days of my life were spent with my paternal grandmother, Mrs. Hembree(I called her Mrs. Hembree). She lived next door to my uncle out in the country. We never went anywhere. But I had a playhouse under the china berry tree and the best comfort and love. So glad for you that yall have having a good time.
