Last year, I think it was in November that Addie got her first Raddish Kids kit. She loves getting mail an I had been trying to send her little packages once a month. I was trying to pick up little things and keep them on hand, then send them to her each month but sometimes I’d forget so I looked for a monthly subscription box. There are several that I wanted to get but I decided on the Raddish Kids package.
I highly recommend Raddish Kids kits. If it’s for a grandchild, I’d make sure at least one of the parents is willing to supervise and help, especially for those a bit young to be cooking.
The cost is $24 for monthly, $22 per month if you buy the 6 month subscription and pay up front or $20 per month if you order the one year subscription and pay up front. Read the fine print. It does auto renew if you don’t cancel.
Addie LOVES it! Since our subscription is coming up for renewal in September or October, I asked her if she had enough kits and she said “I could never get enough of those!” So, I’ll renew it for her.
Each kit comes with three recipes, all kinds of “lesson plans”, talking points for discussions at the table, and a “tool” and you can order back kits. Since Addie’s started in November, and everyone was raving on the Facebook group about the October kit, I ordered that kit and have been holding it here. She opened it this week and we made the Boo-Nana Bread. I think it was one of the best Banana Breads I’ve ever had. Also in that kit is a “Jack-O-Pot Pie” recipe for a chicken pot pie. That’s the recipe people were really talking about and I can’t wait to make that this week. I can’t remember what the third recipe was. The tool with the October kit was a potato masher (for mashing the bananas).
If you’re starting to think about Christmas gifts for the grandkids and they’re in the age group to enjoy this, I highly recommend the Raddish Kids subscription (no affiliation!).
One other thing I might add – if you haven’t thought about this yet, with all the craziness going on, I’d make sure to order all my Christmas presents early!

I just looked this up. She is a very lucky blessed girl to have a grandma like you. Hope she likes cooking as good as you and her dad. Paula in KY

I remember you talking about this last fall. How exciting for you to get to do some things from a kit with her!
