You wouldn’t believe how many tiny peaches I pulled off this tree. I waited til all the peaches were about 1″ in diameter and thinned them so there was a peach every 6 to 8″ but as the peaches grew, they were closer than 6 to 8″ so I went back probably four times again and pulled off more peaches and by the last time, I felt like I should have left more peaches on the tree.
Seeing all the peaches on there now, I feel like I should have pulled off way more. There are so many peaches on there. If they all get ripe at once, I can’t get them processed before they go bad. We have no room in the freezer so they have to be canned or freeze dried. I’ve picked a few to see how they ripen off the vine and they aren’t quite “there” yet. I’d love to get these processed before I go back to MO to return Addie to her parents.
After this peach tree is done, there are two more which will probably get ripe about the same time but we’re at least a month off before they get ripe.
The old fig tree finally got in high gear and is loaded with green figs. I can’t wait for those to get ripe but I really need them to hold off til the peaches are finished.
I’m so happy with what the plum, peach, pear and fig trees are doing this year.

Wow. Wish you didn’t live so far away. I’d sure help with the picking and eating. I love peaches and figs. Nothing better than a ripe fig warm off the tree.

We had a Honey Babe peach tree at our last house and I thinned and thinned those peaches – and still wound up with some that were too close together! Now we’re in a new house and waiting for our backyard to be landscaped/planted. I’m itching to have fruit trees again (we’ll have three), and I’m going to have some large pots in which I can plant herbs and vegetables that grow well in pots. We’re in central California where a lot of vegetables grow well – tomatoes, squash, carrots, etc. – but if you have any suggestions for easy to grow veggies, I would love that. I’m experienced with herbs but not so much with vegetables.

My friend has some fig trees like yours, so she usually has lots to share. I am not sure how to eat them and what you eat on them and what they look like when ready to eat. Thanks for your help.

The colors on the peach tree are beautiful. I love both peaches and figs.
