You don’t want to hear my view of politics and I don’t want to hear yours! My blog will remain free of anything remotely political. If I had to guess, things are going to go from bad to worse now through the election but I am adamant that we will not have that kind of discourse on this blog.
We can all get plenty of that in lots of other places. I never quite understand why you come here to read my ramblings every day but I appreciate that you do and I want to keep this a happy place without confrontation or hurt feelings.
If you have to stop and think . . is what I’m about to write in my comment going to be viewed as political . . then please do not post it. My topics will not be political and if you read them as political and comment accordingly, the comment will be removed.
Thank you for understanding!

Thank you, Judy for keeping your blog a politics free zone. It is refreshing to come to the blog and read “your ramblings everyday” and take a few minutes to be in a carefree place.
Judy Laquidara says
Thank you for reading the blog and thanks for the comment. Like everyone, I have an opinion about everything but . . who cares what I think, especially when it’s going to result in disagreement, arguments and hard feelings. I have left lots of blogs behind because the writer thought she had to convince everyone that her way was the only way. I don’t want to be one of those bloggers.
Laura says
I am grateful to escape the politics.
Judy Laquidara says
Don’t you wish we could escape the politics from here on through to about February, 20201!
Karen says
AMEN!

Nice to read your blog, no politics or current affairs, nothing but the ramblings of a nice normal woman.

It’s nice to know that your blog is a place to get away from politics!

Thanks Judy for your blog- you have no idea how much I enjoy reading your posts! Also married to a PhD engineer, so lots of our stories could be the same 🙂 . I also appreciate the “real” world view- no perfect magazine shots. I love to quilt, knit, read and have been cooking here for 90+ days in a row, so I come to you for inspiration.

Thank you, Judy. I have left so many blogs and Instagram post these past weeks. You are an inspiration that other blogs should be following. Again thanks.

There is a time and a place for everything. I visit your blog for the enjoyment of reading of everyday life in another state and I have learned some things. Other times, I just chuckle along with you in your delightful observations of Vince, Chad, Addie, Wilbur and the girls, Rita, the cats, et.al.
I hope that someday you get that little dachshund puppy!
Becky says
Thank you for the politics-free forum. I wish others would follow your example. Quilting relaxes me during these high-anxiety times. Do not need more drama.
Carolyn says
I do enjoy reading your stories…especially since we have many of the same interests: knitting, gardening, quilting, baking, etc. So happy that there are no politics here, I’ve silenced so many on my Facebook feed so I don’t have to deal with it more than necessary. I dread the run up to the elections…will watch more streaming channels than local channels to avoid the ads! They stress me out!
Priscilla says
It’s good to have a safe place to go where we leave behind things that we might disagree about and enjoy the every day things of life.
Dottie says
Thanks – I always enjoy reading all the things you share. You have a knack for sharing and it’s so refreshing. Thank you.

Thank you, Judy in Texas for providing a quiet place in today’s world. You provide that perfect spot of real life.

I also appreciate the politics free zone. I dread the time up to the elections (and beyond) and am so glad to have your blog that provides so much entertainment – and I learn things there too!
Teri says
Thank you for this Judy.
Linda in NE says
Thank YOU! We keep coming here to see your chatter about everyday things. I think we’ve all had our fill of Covid, protests/riots, etc. We don’t want to hear about politics, especially during the next few months of an election year. We’ll see more than enough of that on other sites.
Sandi B says
Thank you, Judy! I have left ALL social media and have turned off the TV. I. Just. Can’t. Yours is the only blog I’m currently reading. The others who went on rants more than once were too toxic to my grieving soul right now.
I am kind of enjoying the peace and quiet. (I am finding myself in prayer much more these days.)
Judy Laquidara says
I know exactly what you’re talking about and feel the same way. That’s why I’m more determined than ever to keep my blog free of controversy.
Susan Nixon says
Yay! Politics Free Zone! =) There are a couple of blogs I’m really not reading right now, because I don’t want to hear more of that. I am deleting posts I normally read, because they append some political statement at the bottom. Grr! I’m glad there will be one place I can go for everyday good life. Even snakes!
cindy says
i keep hoping you will go back to quilting. and i enjoy your ramblings like listening to a friend.
Vicky in Bama says
Thank you so much Judy. In a time of so much discord I am grateful for a place where I can just be. We all in my opinion need to focus on the things that unite us rather than those things that divide us. I prefer to focus oh food, knitting/crocheting, and quilting. Rats if my ols Kenmore hadn’t have broken down. Thnakfully I did find a 401A to replace it with. Unfortunately it isn’t in the same shape it was the last time I saw it. Pray I can get it going with a minimal of expense. Thanks so much for the respite Judy and Vince!!!

You are my escape from this weird world, live in Louisiana so enjoy and understand your blog so much. Thank you.
Nelle Coursey says
I appreciate your “free from political” posts. Hope I have never said anything to the contrary. I don’t think I have but if I did, I apologize. Didn’t mean to do it. Everyone has their own opinions and I have mine. I have been doing a very good job of keeping them to myself lately.
Sue Lyon says
Judy, I read your blog every day but rarely comment. Just want you to know how much I appreciate the “no politics” ban in posting. I read your blog for the enjoyment it gives me, not political turmoil. If I want to read that I can find it else where. Thanks so much
Joan Waldman says
Yeah!!!! A place where we can just hang out and enjoy ourselves. I’ve been checking lots of CD books out of the library so I can have “noise” when I sew and I don’t have to raise my blood pressure. Thanks for keeping the blog a fun place to play.
cassews says
There are places on the internet to type your views and there are places that are not. I have left 3 forums because of that I dont want to know about politics: food, everyday occurrences, quilting, knitting, crocheting, ideas is one thing. BUT the on going politics I’ll pass on. Thank you very much
cassews says
Oops forgot grandkids as my 13 year old grand daughter is visiting us and she is having a blast sewing, crocheting, lapidary and faceting.
Cherie in St Louis says
I’m with everyone else, thank you for the political free space! I just love reading your ramblings that you share with us……..it’s like a soap opera only about animals, gardens, appliances, shopping, etc…… 😉
Karen says
Thank you Judy! I’m weary of politics entering into every space. I usually enjoy Instagram but I’ve been skipping it lately and unfollowing like crazy.
I like hearing about all the things you do. My DH knows you as Judy up in Brownwood and he’s interested in getting a solar oven because of the stories I’ve told him from your blog.
