We worked out in the garden this morning way past the point when we should have stopped. It got so hot. I quit working before Vince did but now, we’re both inside til late this evening when we’ll go back out. I’ll make sure the garden is being watered, and I’ll have to hand water the keyhole and the turmeric raised beds; Vince will take care of the chickens and maybe pick some plums that are just getting ripe.
We had planned to grill hamburgers today but when we came in, we were both hot and thinking about firing up the grill didn’t sound good so I grabbed a bag of shrimp and made shrimp salad.
It isn’t finished yet. I still have to add more mayo, lemon juice and pickle relish. I’ll serve that over lettuce, with a few tomatoes and cucumber slices. I also took out tuna to sear and I baked extra potatoes yesterday so I think I’ll do something with those.
As I’m cooking, I wonder have to wonder what I’d do without my Louisiana spices. Tabasco from Avery Island, Louisiana and Soileau’s Spread from J. T.’s in Lake Charles. Add in a bit of Cajun Redhead seasoning and I use something from Louisiana in the kitchen every single day!
