The fourth day of June and either I’m having too much fun or I’m not doing good at all . . and I guess it could be a bit of both.
#1 – The Sweater
My original project was supposed to be a striped sweater – kind of a boxy, loose fitting winter sweater. It called for DK weight yarn and I ordered my somewhere around June 12. I chose a gray and raspberry – nothing bright – kinda drab, in fact.
On June 1, I started knitting. Several days before, I had started having second thoughts about the drab colors. That’s ok. I ordered it – I’m going to use it! I knitted all day Monday on that drab gray sweater. I like the yarn. Some other time, I’ll be fine with the color – just not now.
Tuesday morning I got up and started knitting on it again. Vince had gone to town and I felt like I was making myself knit every stitch so I said . . no! I have other yarns I can use.
#2 – The Shawl
I had this yarn, which I was chomping at the bit to use so I decided I’d use that and make a three color shawl.
There hasn’t been a lot of knitting time but what knitting time I did have on Tuesday and Wednesday, I worked on this. This morning I was thinking . . this project only has to use 400 yards. Why am I making a shawl that uses 1,100 yards?
That started the quest to find something smaller.
#3 – A Stole
I’ve just started my third project! At this rate, I’m not going to finish anything! It requires about 800 yards but I can stop at any time after 400 yards and it will just be shorter. I have another project started from this pattern and it’s a fun knit and I’m so in love with the colors.
The purple is almost electric. I LOVE it! Maybe tomorrow in the daylight hours, I’ll get a decent picture of it.
Wish me luck getting anything finished by the end of the month . . I think we can all agree I’m going to need it, at the rate I’m going.

Hi Judy. I am not being critical… but curious. How many shawls, sweaters etc do you own? Do you wear them a season or two and discard or how does it work. I love to knit but I look at my pile of sweaters that don’t fit in the drawers and just can’t justify starting another one. Is there a secret you have that you need to share?. Ha.

I have a lot! I never discard any of them. I do give quite a few away but only when they’re new.

I haven’t done much on my Camp Loopy project. I’m doing a two-color shawl, but I tripped Sunday night and split my knee open. I can’t really find a truly comfortable way to sit (I’m not allowed to bend the injured knee), and I just don’t feel much like knitting or doing anything else for that matter! I hope I can finish it by the end of the month! 🙁

I need to take a picture of my knitted side to side sweater and show you! It was fun and I think it turned out really well! You always make such beautiful sweaters, shawls, etc.
