Yesterday a bit of yarn arrived. I’m pretty happy with my restraint in ordering yarn lately. This all came from The Loopy Ewe.
First, a huge thumbs up for the U. S. Postal Service. There had been some problems with our packages. I heard they were getting hung up in Abilene but I have no idea if that’s a fact. They would scan as departing Lubbock, TX. The next stop should have been Abilene but they would go for days without any other scans. It was taking 8 or more days for a package that usually arrived in 3 days. This package left The Loopy Ewe on Friday and was scheduled to arrive today but it arrived yesterday so I was super happy and thankful. I never really worry about the mail. We have a great mail carrier but I like to know when packages are supposed to be delivered so they don’t sit out in plain sight on the highway if they get left at the gate, so it was annoying not knowing where the package was and when it might arrive.
The Loopy Ewe made up some “kits” for a two color shawl that I wanted to make. They had a bunch of kits and there were two I wanted and couldn’t decide which one to get. Both the double skein kits are Dream in Color with Smooshy. It’s a round, bouncy yarn and it feels so good.
Left is Alive and right is Universe is Yours.
Left is Kyoto Sunset and right is Gold Experience, and it is more gold than it looks in the photo.
I did mention restraint, right? 🙂
The third set I ordered is for a two color shawl. Someone else had shared a photo of one they made and I loved it. The pattern called for fingering weight yarn but I wanted mine to be a bit larger so I’m using Malabrago Arroyo which is a sport weight yarn.
The main part of the shawl will be the multi, which is Arco Iris. The trim will be the purple, which is Borrajas.
I need to start knitting more and . . what shall I do less? Sleep! 🙂

I’m taking lots of yarn to Arkansas. I’ve had so much trouble with Knit Picks and shipping I may not order anything else from them!?

Not to feed the flame but The Loopy Ewe is super quick about shipping and I usually get their yarn in 2 or 3 days.

I do love these. They look so soft!

Well . . it’s yarn! 🙂

You don’t seem to have as much time right now, but if it’s shawls, you won’t need them for a few months, so you have time to make them.

I think all the work we have to do during the summer is why I like Fall and Winter so much.
