I’m keeping my fingers crossed that the plumber actually comes today. We don’t have a plumber that we’ve used here it isn’t like we’re a loyal customer but this one has a good reputation in town and he said he’d try to work us in today so I’m going to be hoping he makes it out here today.
We have our little setup where we open the window in the closet and in the bathroom, Vince has stand up type fan blowing the air towards the window but it still takes 30 – 40 minutes after we take showers before the detector stops chirping. It’s funny because it about drove us all nuts Thursday night. Now we’ve dealt with it for five nights and hardly even notice it chirping any more. That’s probably not good.
I figure that while they’re working, I’ll take Rita and go knit in the sewing room. That’s a strange room for her and she’ll run into everything and Boots will probably want to do a big inspection of the new object and Rita will want to kill him but since she has no teeth, I’m not real concerned. Our time in the sewing room may be short but I figure one less human contact inside the house might make the plumbers more comfortable.
Vince said he’ll ask them if they want him to wear a mask. I guess if they have one one, he’ll just wear one without asking. It all feels so weird.
I’ll keep you posted on the water heater situation.

Two weeks ago we had an electrician and a HVAC guy out to fix our air conditioner. Both showed up (masked) on time,(separately) tried not to touch anything that wasn’t necessary for them to touch, and only went into the rooms they needed too. When they left, I wiped everything they touched with disinfectant wipes. The “six feet away” was also heeded. It was a bit weird feeling, but I was happy they were able to fix it, and not have to come back a second time.
