Today I finished the second load of peaches in the freeze dryer. Vince said “What’s next?” I said “Are you crazy? I’m not touching anything til we start having better luck!”
I was cleaning bathrooms today. I use baby powder and my rug gets so dusty so I went outside to shake it and said “heck, I’ll just wash it!” It’s just a small bathroom rug that I’ve washed many times.
I threw it in the washer, went in after it should have been done and there was a strange light on that I’d never noticed before on the washer. I had to hit “unlock” to get the door to open and there was a lot of water in the washer. I can’t just hit “spin” . . my option is “rinse and spin” so I did that, went back after a while and the same light was on, there was still water in the washer.
I thought . . maybe the one rug isn’t enough so I threw in some of Vince’s work clothes. Waited til they should have been done, went back . . same thing.
This is my washer from MO that I love and wish I could use it in the house but I only have room for a stack set.
Vince hooked a water hose to the washer, ran an extension cord, brought me some 5 gallon buckets to load the sopping wet clothes in, took the clothes out in the buckets, dumped them in the washer, ran a complete cycle using cold water, brought them in and dried them.
Vince said he’ll mess with the washer tomorrow. Today has been fixing the pipes day and moving some things out of the closet so it will be easier to get the water heater out when the plumber comes on Tuesday.
I may need a vacation!

Sounds like time for a trip to MO! Good thing you have that extra washer. Why in the world someone would build such a small area for laundry, I can’t imagine.

The same reason the water heater is in a closet off the master bedroom I guess. There are a whole lot of things about this house that we ask ourselves “why?” You should see where the light switches are! Nowhere near where I would have put them and . . for a less than 1,700 square feet house, why are there SIX switches by the back door? I’ve still never figured out which switch turns what on and off.
