The last two or three evenings there have been storms north and west of us but they’ve missed us. We so badly need rain but these storms have produced humongous hail, some of which was big to go through roofs. I’m glad that missed us. There’s a chance we’ll have rain this afternoon and it’s been fairly cool today. You understand that cool to me isn’t cool to some people but I just came in from spending about 4 hours in the garden and it’s 93 now and cloudy. Considering it’s been 105 with full sun for the past week, 93 seems nice if you aren’t working too hard.
Accuweather says storms here at 1:00 p.m. but it’s 1:30 and no storms so maybe they’re just around the corner and will be here soon or maybe they’re going to skip us . . who knows.
Vince went out at daylight and turned the water on in the garden so all I had to water was the keyhole.
I use Miracle Grow once a week in the garden. Did that yesterday (every Friday) so today I added extra phosphate to the tomatoes and squash. I had planned to add it to the peppers too but I ran out of steam before I got them done.
I have two rows of Seminole Pumpkins/Squash growing so I decided to use the phosphate on just one row and see if I can notice any difference in growth – leaves, vines or fruit. We’ll see.
I only add the phosphate once every four weeks so I’ll do that again on June 20.
I pulled a few carrots. These are Parisienne Carrots and I pull a few and plant a few so we always have carrots. The carrots I planted today are New Kuroda Carrots, which are supposed to do better with our hot temps so we’ll see. Another zucchini and two more yellow squash. In February, 2019, we planted blackberries. I think we planted 10 but two of them didn’t make it so we have 8 blackberry plants. They’ve produced a lot of blackberries this year which surprised me. I’ve had to be diligent about adding acidifier to each plant, some more than others, but I’ve probably picked 6 or 8 cups of berries and they’re still producing so I’m happy.
Everything is fertilized and watered. I’m done for the day in the garden. I’d like to take a nap but will probably sit and knit til time to fix dinner . . which is going to be chicken sandwiches with frozen pre-cooked chicken breasts from Aldi . . which may sound bad but they taste almost exactly like Chick-Fil-A.

Saw several pictures of the HUGE hail around Burkburnett. I don’t think I’ve ever seen hail that big (punching holes through the roof and going directly into the house. We’re under the gun for some weather this afternoon/evening, just hope it’s rain and no hail. Hope y’all get some rain, too (no really bad stuff).

That’s where I saw the pictures – from around Burkburnett.
