Last night was the third time we’ve had quite a bit of thunder and Rita hasn’t reacted. I know I shouldn’t get my hopes up that she’s gotten over her fear of thunder but it’s been so nice not to have her panic for hours.
I don’t think she’s losing her hearing . . let the Fed Ex or UPS guy drive up or if I say “Vince, it’s time to eat!” . . that word “eat” and she’s in the kitchen in a jiffy waiting to be fed.
It’s just weird. It will thunder and Vince and I both look at each other, I find myself holding my breath and watching Rita and . . no reaction. I like it! If she can get over her fear of thunder, I should be able to get over my bridge fear, don’t you think?
Joyce says
She’s developing selective hearing. LOL
Judy Laquidara says
No. She’s a girl. Only men can do that, right? 🙂
donna williams says
Right!
Dottie says
Maybe, she FINALLY realizes that she is safe with you and Vince?!?!? I can only imagine how freaked out she was, before y’all found each other, being in the elements for who knows how long?? Hoping it continues.
donna Williams says
Bridge Fear will never go away for me, I think. I have nightmares about them and cannot even look at a still photo of them. There was one in Mississippi we crossed I was driving -I sobbed all the way across. One week later they opened a new one and tore down the old one we drove over because it was hazardous and a serious threat. Gah! I’m hoping Rita is is permanently ok with thunder, poor pup.
Nelle Coursey says
Absolutely! But she has you and Vince and she knows you are not going to let anything happen to her.
Judy Laquidara says
I hope that’s it and hope she doesn’t revert back to going into a panic when it thunders.
Teri says
The answer to your question is yep….
