Addie called this evening. I was so expecting this phone call.
Addie: Granny? When I come to your house, can I bring Bridgette?
Me: I thought you might want to do that but I’ll have to check to see if it’s against the law to bring chickens from one state to another. We have to go from Missouri, to Oklahoma, to Texas.
Addie: OK.
I don’t know if it’s against the law or not but it ain’t happening. I am not driving 10 hours with her holding a pooping chicken in the back seat! And we have no place to keep one chicken though I’m sure Addie thinks Bridgette would stay in the house!
There are two other chickens – Ann and Poppy but apparently, it’s true love between Addie and Bridgette. Nicole said that’s about the only one she carries around all the time. Poor Bridgette.
Does that make me a bad granny?
Dottie says
That’s funny – and, no, it doesn’t make you a bad granny ;-).

LOL!! I could just see that chicken in the back seat of your car for 10 hours!! 🙂 No, it definitely does NOT make your a bad grandma! 🙂 It makes you a SMART grandma!!
Linda in NE says

Adorable photo!

That’s SO adorable!!
Stephani in N. TX says
Some friends had 3 chicks they had in their car one spring. I had never been that close up with a chick before, but was amazed at their constant drizzle of “stuff.” Never knew animals did that until we had ducks for our kiddos later in life, again a constant drizzle. The photo of Addie and her friend is just too cute!

I have to wonder if she has to do the clean up of Bridgette? And noooo, not a bad Granny!
Judy Laquidara says
Bridgette is not allowed in the house now. So far, she hasn’t pooped on Addie. That may change everything once that happens.
Joanne M Perry says
Bridgette might be very thankful for the break from Addie’s loving attentions.
Judy Laquidara says
That’s my guess too.
Nelle Coursey says
No it does not make you a bad granny! Sometimes we have to stretch the truth a little. However some states do have restrictions on what you can bring in.
Connie says
You’re a sensible granny!
