Speaking of TV, Vince signed up for a free trial of Netflix over the weekend. Chad and Nicole had watched the Waco series and were talking about it. Vince said he had seen an advertisement for it and wanted to watch it so he signed up and I think we may keep Netflix for a while.
The Waco story – I don’t really want to discuss it here except to say that’s the reason Vince signed up for Netflix.
But, we’ve already watched several good movies so Vince will probably keep it. One of the movies is Falling Inn Love. The other one is Murder Mystery with Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler. The other is Holiday in the Wild.
Because I think good movies are a bit hard to find, I’ll be sure to report on here when we watch good ones . . or at least the ones I think are good ones.

I watched Virgin River by Robyn Carr and loved it. The first part is on Netflix now and in June the 2nd season will start. They are based on her book series Virgin River. I also have read all of her books.

We started watching that last night. I kept thinking the name sounded familiar. I read the books and just now put it all together.

Loved Virgin River. Looking forward to the next season. Check out Longmire – that’s a good one too.

What kind do and don’t you like?
Judy Laquidara says
I like happy love stories. I don’t like scary movies or drama or mystery. And I don’t like movies with lots of bad words or adult scenes.

I agree with you (mostly). There’s a blogger whose book recommendations I ignore, because she likes “domestic thrillers.” Ugh. I remember when a lot of people were reading “Gone Girl,” and when I read that neither character was likable, I wondered “Why bother?”
I read a different book by the author of a book you liked, and it turned out to be a domestic thriller. There were huge red flags, and the heroine blithely ignored them. 😛

Thanks for the list but I do not like murder mysteries. I’m a big chicken and the last thing I need to watch is a murder story. I like happy love story type movies.
sandinthewindowsills says
me, too, Judy. those and comedies. Nothing heavy that I will have bad dreams about later.

Watch Three Identical Strangers. It is a fascinating documentary about triplets who found one another as adults. It fits all your requirements.
Judy Laquidara says
Thanks! I’ll ask Vince to find it so we can watch it.
Diana Rose says
The Highwaymen – Kevin Costner one of two agents tracking down Bonnie & Clyde
Longmire – modern day western set in small town in Wyoming, several seasons, lots of stories intertwined

New in Town with Renee Zollweger and Harry Connick Jr. is REALLY good. The new “Harriet”, story of Harriet Tubman, is very well done. Each scene ends on an upbeat, no terrible slavery scenes, etc. Very positive. The Last Starfighter with Robert Preston (The Music Man), futuristic but starts on earth.
Nelle Coursey says
If they have it, you need to watch “The Whole Wide World” with Rene Zellweger and Anthony D’Onofrio. It is about the man from Cross Plains, Robert E. Howard who wrote Conan The Barbarian. It is a very good movie based on the book by Novalyne Price Ellis. His girlfriend. It is based on a true story and talks about living in Cross Plains, going to Cisco, Brownwood and near Bangs where she grew up. Howard is buried at Greenleaf Cemetery with his mother and father. Novalyne is buried at a cemetery near Bangs. This movie was made by her students at LSU in her honor. There were several people here who went to school with him and thought he was weird. Thus he published his “pulp fiction” in books such as Weird Tales. Stephen King praises him and says he is one of the reasons he is a writer. Every year in June they have the Barbarian Festival in Cross Plains (probably not this year) and people from all over the world attend! We have been before and you learn a lot about him and his works. His father gave all the copies of the books and manuscripts to Howard Payne College but they refused them because they were “trash”! Just think how much money they could have now after all the movies!!

I have Netflix. Fortunately, my son is watching it sometimes. Otherwise, I’m paying for it for no reason.
