You probably don’t believe me but I try really hard to not complain about our summers. But, I feel a bit justified in complaining when May 2, 3 and 4 our temps were over 100 and up to 105 one of those days. Those are July and August temps – not the first week of May temps. Today’s high is supposed to be 80 and even though that sounds hot, it’s 20+ degrees cooler than the last few days.
On the hot days, we’ve had meals like this except yesterday Vince was hungry for grilled chicken so he grilled the chicken, I cooked the baked beans in the solar oven and steamed broccoli.
My plans for today: Finish the second (and final test knit), make more masks for Nicole and maybe make stuffed peppers for dinner. Of course, for the next couple of months, watering the garden will be on the agenda. By the end of this week, I think I’ll have zucchini and blackberries to pick! That’s exciting!

I think I’d complain too, if it was over 100 already!! We were at 27 this morning (yes, 27 – that’s not a typo). Getting ready for bed last night the furnace kicked on and I said to hubby, “It’s MAY!! The furnace should NOT be running in May!!” We have it set to 65, so it’s not that hot in here….I’d like a happy medium, please… I’m sure you’d appreciate the same.

I’m not ready for 100’s, but mid-70’s sure would be nice, We had 2 warm days, and now it’s supposed to be 60-ish for the rest of the week, with a chance of frost on Friday night. Grr. I just got all the flower pots planted! It’s not supposed to be this cold in May! (I do keep reminding myself it could be worse. When I lived in Chicago, one year it snowed in May…that was definitely another reason to move south!)

We have had several days in April at 105/106 here in So CA – Palm Springs area. Also had a few cool mornings where we needed the heat to take the chill off. We had the AC serviced and are ready for summer. The pool is quite warm already as well.
All our spring flowers are dying. We plant them in Nov. and they start dying off in April. Can’t wait for October.
