Yesterday morning Vince wanted an English muffin and sausage and he said he’d cook the sausage so I didn’t cook breakfast. Then, he said “How about we have hot dogs for dinner tonight?” He’s the one who went to Aldi during the week. I do not buy wieners and hot dog buns but I was glad he did. This morning he said “Want to grill burgers today and we can use the English muffins for buns?” Sure! We had cereal for breakfast this morning so if he’s grilling burgers, I won’t be cooking again today! I am getting a lot of knitting done!
The sourdough bread that wouldn’t fit in my brown bags . . we cut into it yesterday and it was so good. Someone (maybe more than one person) had commented that they don’t like holes in bread. I don’t like holes in regular bread but for sourdough, it’s my goal to have large open, airy holes!
I was pretty happy with the holes in this loaf and the taste . . wonderful sourdough flavor! Vince would buy sourdough bread at the store and it was the fakest (is that a word?) tasting sourdough. It was like a chemical tasting sour and I never liked it but this bread is so good.
This doesn’t really count as cooking but I did put together a snack for us yesterday.
Sourdough, salami, cheese and olives. Yum!

There is nothing better than home made bread with real butter melted on it! I like it better than cake!!

I could eat that snack. I probably have, with maybe different cheese!
