My friend has been talking about these brownies for so long so I decided to make them. They’re ok . . I’m not the best to judge brownies but they have one pound of butter – yes . . 4 sticks. I didn’t even realize they had that much butter when I started making them.
It doesn’t look like it but that’s a 9 x 13 pan.
They remind me of Heavenly Hash eggs we get at Easter. The icing would have been fine with one stick of butter. I doubt I make them again because neither of us needs that much butter – no one does!
They’re very similar to this recipe except the one I used didn’t have additional oil and it called for a 16 oz. bag of marshmallows and the bag I had was 10 oz. but it was plenty. Except for those two changes, it’s the exact same recipe – cooking time and all.
It didn’t help that we had a brand new carton of Blue Bell Homemade Vanilla ice cream that we put on top of them. Hey . . sometimes you just have to break all the rules!

they do look amazing…..but I am only seeing a half pound of butter total in the recipe: one stick in the batter and one stick in the frosting for the 13×9 pan. one pound of butter would be one RICH pan of brownies for sure, but ahhhmazing!

The recipe I linked to is not the recipe I used. It’s very similar but does have less butter. I said this: “They’re very similar to this recipe except the one I used didn’t have additional oil and it called for a 16 oz. bag of marshmallows and the bag I had was 10 oz. but it was plenty. Except for those two changes, it’s the exact same recipe – cooking time and all.”
The recipe in the link does have one stick of butter in the batter but it also has 1/2 cup oil which my recipe did not have and yes, the icing in the linked recipe has 1 stick but my recipe had 2 sticks and it would have been fine with just one stick but I did use two.

As much as I like chocolate and brownies, those don’t appeal to me at all.
