I must do better. Another day that has almost ended without a blog post.
The big news today is that four of our 36 solar panels are not working and a fifth is barely limping along. They say things like this happen in threes so I’m saying the kitchen faucet was first. Moen sent the parts and Vince has now fixed it. The second was the freeze dryer. The new pump should be here Friday and let’s hope that’s all it needs. Now . . the solar panels. Vince called Long Horn Solar today but I don’t think he heard back from them. They’re very busy always so it may be a few days before we hear from them but they’ll come when they can and do whatever has to be done.
I told Vince . . think twice before you touch anything after the last week or so and so much going wrong.
Today was just a typical day . . work in the garden, cook, laundry, a bit of knitting, but the day kinda got away from me! I’ll do better.

It’s definitely hard when things go wrong all at once. It always seems to feel like the world is against you and it’s just going to get worse and worse. But you ARE right – things happen in threes, so hopefully you’re done with things falling apart for a while!! Crossing my fingers for you! 🙂
Judy Laquidara says
It could definitely be worse. I’m thankful these three things are easy fixes. But it does kinda make you wonder what’s going to go wrong next. Vince just went to put some clothes in the washer and pulled the little drawer thing where you put the detergent – he pulled it completely out of the washer! He put it back in . . let’s see how long it stays there.
Rebecca in SoCal says
I wondered if you had internet problems. Glad it was you being busy!
Judy Laquidara says
No. If I don’t stop first thing in the morning and get a blog post done, it just doesn’t seem to happen. With the garden, I try to be out there by daylight so I get as much done as I can before it gets too hot.
Kara says
Judy, It may not be the problem, but people that are van lifers have found that they have to wash the solar panels because they get dirty so they are not processing the sunshine. This might not be the answer to your problem, but it might help some. 🙂
Judy Laquidara says
No, that isn’t the problem. They’re showing up as dead. They’re on top of a 2-1/2 story building with a sloped metal roof so no, we’re not washing them. The others are working fine so it isn’t that. I’m sure they would benefit from a good rain but that isn’t going to happen any time soon around here.
Nelle Coursey says
Doesn’t it always happen that way! When people can’t go out or do things, then things break and things happen! But hopefully this will be the end of the problems for a while!
Judy Laquidara says
Yes, hopefully!
Susan Nixon says
I hope it’s now diagnosed, at least. I never think of things going wrong with solar panels or windmills, but I guess they can.
Judy Laquidara says
NOT! Have not even received a call back from them! 🙁
