I’m predicting a lazy Saturday! I think it’s time for a day of sitting and knitting. Yesterday it was cold all day – somewhere between 43 and 47 every time I looked at the temp. It was cloudy and windy so being outside wasn’t a fun place to be.
I got up, made the pie crust for the ricotta pie.
The parts from Moen had arrived so Vince said “When you’re done, I need you out of the kitchen for 10 minutes while I change out the faucet parts.” Vince can fix anything and everything but it usually involves breaking something, a trip to the hardware store and then getting it fixed. I kept thinking . . I can live with this faucet for a while because I didn’t want him going to the hardware store. I was even thinking what it would cost for a plumber to come fix the sink and then I was thinking about what it would be like to wash dishes in the bathroom sink! That’s how my mind works.
He started working on it and . . oh, no! That’s not right!” I stayed calm and stayed out of the kitchen. He came back in the living room, called Moen. They had a recording that they would call back in about 20 minutes. He went back in the kitchen and figured it out and got it all fixed and got the water back on. Whew! That was scary.
By the time I was allowed back in the kitchen, the pie crust had been chilling long enough that I was able to roll it out and make the pie.
It was yummy. I put it in the fridge and last night we each had two slices! Once this virus is gone, we are going to have to go on such a serious diet!
Next, I had eggs in the freeze dryer and was going to put them in mylar bags – about 5 eggs per bag. Those are really easy for Chad to take camping so I figured the whole load would give me 16 bags of eggs for them so that was at least two weeks of eggs if they were camping but when I got over there to package them, all I had was large mylar bags and some smaller ones with the clear fronts and they don’t keep the food as well as the all mylar bags so I went ahead and put them up in jars. I ordered small bags and the next eggs I freeze dry can be camping eggs.
I left he freeze dryer to defrost on its own (vs. letting it auto defrost). I had planned to get a load of celery going today but we may have thunderstorms tonight so I’d rather have the freeze dryer unplugged. That means I don’t have to get the celery all sliced up today! More time to knit!
We had brisket tacos for dinner – leftover brisket and homemade corn tortillas and leftover beans.
And, finally . . I cleaned out the fridge. Good grief . . there was so much bad stuff in there. I asked Vince “When did we last have turkey bone soup?” The leftovers were still in there and they were growing something . . it was bad!
That was my day yesterday. I do believe sitting and knitting today may save my sanity. I am going to fix Migas for breakfast but otherwise – we have leftovers and we have pie.
Yes . . you’ll find me sitting in my chair most of the day!

I didn’t have the plan, but it was a lazy day. I did nothing, and then I took a nap. =)

When kids go away to the first year of college they generally gain 15 pounds. It is called the Freshman 15. We are calling our weight gain the quarantine 15, and we are hoping to only gain that much.
I worked on cleaning out my fridge today and I had a couple of science experiments growing in there. I usually clean it out more often. Before I go grocery shopping but I haven’t been shopping.

Yes, I’ll be pretty happy if it’s just 15 pounds but I’m afraid I may have already passed that mark.
