Thank goodness most of our garden is in buckets . . well, unless you count everything in the keyhole, the carrots, asparagus, potatoes, onions, garlic and artichokes . . and the blackberries and elderberries and I keep forgetting about the snow peas!
Tonight through Thursday night, our temps are going to fall into the 30’s, or that was the forecast last time I checked. Last night we were supposed to have bad storms . . hail and possibly a tornado. Just a little hail can ruin those small plants (and the peaches and plums on the trees!) so we brought all the tomatoes in small buckets into the shop.
There are tomatoes, peppers, herbs and even the celery bottoms that I planted recently and you can see that they are starting to sprout.
Vince covered the tomatoes in the big tubs with heavy cardboard boxes. I’m hoping they didn’t blow off during the worst of the storm last night. Haven’t even gone out to check yet.
All of the plants from the greenhouse that we had brought out had to go back in.
I am thankful so much of our stuff was in buckets and we were able to bring it in and protect it from hail and cold.

We’re having a rip, roaring snowstorm today. Heavy snow, crazy wind. Supposed to be 16 degrees tonight. How’s that for Easter Sunday?
Judy Laquidara says
Is that unusual for there? Sounds crazy to me!
Tee says
It’s not unusual for Minnesota. This is the 3rd April in a row with a significant snow storm. We got 6 inches today!

It’s good that you have your greenhouse to protect your plants! Here’s hoping the outside trees and plants do well, too.

A portable garden is a good thing. It’s pouring rain here right now, but I only have one tomato plant to worry about, and it’s up against the house under the eaves on the porch. Not a sunny Easter, but the meaning doesn’t change with the weather. =)

We started off with 69 degrees today then finished with brr degrees- and the wind is cold and brisk. We brought in our tomato plants , covered the onions, garlic and pepper plants. Its supposed to get down to 28 degrees tonite with snow on the eastern side of Colorado. Possibly rain and I emptied the rain barrel so I would have fresh rain water for watering outside plants .
Happy Easter to all !!!
