Right now, at least at our house, little things mean a lot. I suppose they always do but when there are trips to Walmart, Aldi; trips to Missouri; going out to eat; spending time wandering the aisles at Hobby Lobby, I don’t always notice the little things.
This morning Nicole had called and I missed her call so when I called back, Addie answered and we had the sweetest conversation. She was telling me what the Easter Bunny brought, maybe with less enthusiasm than in the past years so I’m wondering if she might be thinking there’s a chance the Easter Bunny isn’t real but she doesn’t want to admit it . . just in case.
Then Nicole called back. Addie was jumping on the trampoline and wanted to show me her hands free flip. Nicole said “I used to could do that!” Addie started begging . . do it, do it! So, Nicole hopped up on the trampoline. I was saying “NO! You can’t go to the E.R. right now!” Addie videoed while Nicole did a perfect hands free flip. I said “Now your dad needs to do one!” Addie ran off to get him hollering “CHAD! CHAD!” I think it’s funny that when she gets excited, she calls him Chad.
Vince and I were out looking in the garden to decide where he’s going to till up some space for beans, squash, eggplant and okra. We were headed back to the house and he said “Want a snack?” I said “No, not now.” He said “How about a carrot?” Good idea! I went and pulled us each a carrot.
We washed them off outside to keep dirt out of the septic tank, then I brought them inside and cleaned them a bit better. I cut mine up . . he wanted his whole.
Simple pleasure — sitting and munching on a carrot we grew in our own garden.
It all reminds of Joey & Rory’s song, That’s Important to Me. I hope I never forget the things that are important to me.

Do we get to see Adie and Nicole doing the flip on the trampoline???

No. We were video chatting on the phone and I didn’t do any screen captures. I wish I had. Nicole is such a good sport.

Even if you don’t break something, you can strain something doing that activity. LOL The carrot was a lovely moment. I always love that song.
