I can’t seem to sew fast enough. I had asked Nichole’s aunt if they needed masks and she wants masks for four and I think everyone using them needs at least two. I told Chad “I’m going to ask but I’m sure I know what you’re going to say . . do you want any masks?” I was sure he would say “Oh, mom! Stop overreacting!” but he said YES! Then Nicole asked if I would make some for her sister so I figure that’s at least six adults and two kid sizes for Addie. I kinda had to make up the pattern for her so I’m sending two and if they’re a good fit, I’ll send more.
It’s funny because Nicole has never liked purple. When I first met her, she really, really disliked purple. Somewhere along the way, Addie decided purple was her mom’s favorite color. I think that was because we all joked so much about Nicole NOT liking purple. Every time Addie picks out something for her mom, it’s purples so I told them I’d make their masks purple – Nicole’s favorite color.
Today I have more masks to get made. I hope to be caught up with special request masks by Thursday evening, but there may be more requests made by then.

I am making masks also and it does seem like once you mention to anyone that you are making them, they need them and their neighbor needs them, and so on. Which is fine, but I thought I would just keep making them until my elastic runs out (I am not fiddling with ties), but then neighbors are now dropping elastic off in my mailbox. Guess I will just keep sewing…

Most of mine are going to a hospital and they do not want elastic at all so I didn’t even bother trying to get any elastic.

Even if the mask doesn’t protect you, it sure could protect others from getting it from you if you have it!

And it keeps me from touching my face. With all the pollen, I’m constantly rubbing my eyes. Even though the mask doesn’t cover my eyes, I think just having it would remind me not to touch my nose, eyes or mouth but . . we haven’t been out and won’t go out again so I don’t see us wearing ours much. Chad and Nicole are both “essential” so they’re working.
