We’re old folk and some days we feel it more than others. Today seems to be a day we’re feeling it. We have both been tired all day. I didn’t fix breakfast – we had cereal. I never fix lunch. I had planned to make chicken piccata for dinner. We usually eat between 3 and 4. About 2:00. I told Vince . . I’m sleepy. I’m going to take a quick nap. He said he was going to take a nap in his chair. I went to bed. He walked down to check the mail before his nap. The minute he left, Rita realized she was alone and began howling. I knew it would take him a while to get back from the mail box so I got up, got her and put her in the little bassinet by our bed and she went right to sleep. I set the alarm on my table to wake up at 3:00 and that would still give me time to get dinner done by 4 but I slept right through the alarm. I got up about 3:30 and started to cook. Vince said “Isn’t there some kind of leftovers in the fridge that we can have so you don’t have to cook?” Oh, yes . . I love that man!
I made fresh pasta and heated up a chicken/marinara dish. Dinner was served and done!
Even though it was more like an adventure going out yesterday after having not been out in over three weeks, I think it was stressful and kinda wore us down. Plus, today we’ve waited all day for rain which hasn’t arrived yet but it’s been cloudy and overcast.
About the only thing I got done today was getting the two trays of asparagus and two trays of celery in the freeze dryer. Not much of an accomplishment but I’m fixing to start knitting and I’m going to knit til bedtime.

Seems like your bodies were telling you to rest and take it easy! You’ve both been working hard and deserve to take a day off more often!!

Did you save the bottoms of the celery and plant them? If you start them in water, you won’t have to go back to the store for celery!

They don’t grow that quickly! 🙂 I already planted them but I planted celery seeds last week.
