I’ve been saving the extra asparagus for the past week or so and had two gallon zipper bag stuffed full. I was so sure that would fill all four trays in the freeze dryer but it only filled two trays.
The groceries we picked up yesterday . . I had six bunches of celery. Is that what you call celery? A pack, a bundle? Heck . . it escapes me now. I had bought six to freeze dry because when all this started, I had no celery.
It took about 1-1/2 bunches to fill one tray and it took forever to chop that celery. I said “heck with this” and used the food processor, which took about 2 minutes to do it all.
The food processor sliced it thinner than I did by hand so it’s better for the freeze dryer. I still have three bunches of celery left. I’ll probably freeze dry one more tray of celery and keep at least part of a bunch to use fresh. I’ll either fill up the other trays with asparagus or eggs . . about all there is around here right now.

Judy I just paid $10.00 or a bunch of celery, carrots wouldn’t normally but was craving it and had it and some other veggies delivered

take the bottom of the celery and put into water or dirt and it will grow

I’ve already planted celery seeds but I did plant all three of the ones I cut today just to see if it works. I’ve tried it before and have not been successful.
