Another new month. Let’s all hope and pray that by the end of April, things will not be quite so crazy.
COLOR CHALLENGE:
First off – the April color is green.
The color for March was yellow and I actually started and finished a yellow project.
In the photo below, the yellow is the right color. How on earth did I stand in the exact same spot, with the exact same light, at the exact same time of day and get two totally different colors on this cowl?
GIFT GIVING CHALLENGE:
It was definitely not my planned gift giving for this month but I’ve taken bread, sweet rolls, muffins and meals to an elderly friend.
READ A BOOK:
Mostly my reading for this month has been in the Lost Book of Herbal Remedies. I did read another book . . 13 Things Mentally Strong People Don’t Do by Amy Morin. I needed that one! I think I’m fairly mentally strong, til a crisis hits and then I see my weaknesses in so many area.
LEARN SOMETHING NEW:
I’m disappointed that Addie and I didn’t get together in March and work on our American Sign Language. Their lives are so crazy that she and I haven’t even been able to video chat so that’s on hold til I can see her again.
Vince and I have continued to learn about herbs.
We’ve watched lots of videos about container gardening and we’ve put what we learned to use with our container garden.
Now we just have to see how our plan works.
It gives me hope to think about how quickly time will pass and before we know it, I’ll be making the May 1 post and we can hope that life will be different by then but, I’m being realistic and . . well . . we’ll see how things are then.

March didn’t go as planned for most of us. I made a Yellow Easter Egg placemat. 🙂 https://melsquiltingblog.blogspot.com/2020/04/2020-ufo-challenges.html

You did well all around! I can’t keep track of one day to the next and haven’t even summed up what I did for March … not much of anything!

I made a little crocheted yellow ball for my cat. (He kept stealing my little balls of scrap yarn and unwinding them.). The crocheted ball stuffed with fiberfill survives the most enthusiastic biting and kicking. I learned to make face masks, and gave some to my family and to neighbors who don’t sew. Oh, and I learned to make T-shirt yarn for the mask ties. Read an old Vogue knitting book with articles by Elizabeth Zimmermann. And haven’t left home for 21 days. Not what I’d planned either!
