In the past, I’ve done a couple of series on prepping and why we do what we do. I think, with what we’ve all been dealing with, there’s no one who needs an explanation on why we do what we do.
Vince and I have talked a lot about what we’ve learned the past three weeks.
Mainly because I want to think through our supplies, what we need to do better and while all this is running through my head and fresh on your mind, I’m going to do a series of posts. They will not be every day. I do not know it all and welcome your input/comments.
We have done ok . . could have done better. I was short on several things but compared to most, we’re good. Vince is going to pick up a grocery order tomorrow. It’s curbside pickup and the most important things were milk and celery. We have dried milk so we would have been fine without it but it is very nice to have.
So, again, I’m not doing these posts as an expert but as someone who has been learning, continues to learn and wants to share so no one has to go to 10 stores ever again looking for toilet paper, or runs out of anything they need.

I definitely welcome your thoughts on prepping. Even in the best of times, it’s good to be prepared for anything that might happen. Thank you.

I was sitting pretty good. I am not looking forward to what my grocery bill is gonna be when all this is over. My 17 year old was eyeing the container of yeast and asked me how much I thought he’d be able to get on Ebay. Lol

Thank you!

Something to think about – how long does it really take to use an item.
For example, an 8 oz bag of coffee lasts 10 days for me. The large roll of TP lasted two weeks. Toothpaste? I have no idea, so with the next tube, I’ll note the start & end dates.
I’m well stocked for this event, but I need to be a bit more organized on certain items. I need to determine what I need for for X number of months, know where it is stored, and how to rotate it. I think once I have this list, it will be easier to keep an eye for sales. I suspect there may be another round in the fall, and I’ll be better prepared.

I welcome your prepper thoughts.. I live in southern California and never thought that prepping would be necessary here in the land of a zillion markets.. but somehow I didn’t figure on the bazillion people all trying to stock up at the same time. I have learned that if I think I will need it , buy it now, don’t wait..

I think this one caught a lot of people by surprise.

Even experienced preppers find holes in the stored food. It’s inevitable. If you fix every hole this time, you’ll find others next time.
