The buckets arrived yesterday. Our boxes have to stay in quarantine for a few days. Vince sprayed them down with Clorox. They sat all day yesterday, got sprayed again last night. Today he’s going to work on a raised bed for turmeric and ginger so it will be Wednesday at the earliest before we open the boxes. Hopefully by then, any potential problems will be gone.
It was funny because the UPS guy drove up. We used to go out to meet him and get our packages but we figure he doesn’t want to be around us any more than we want to be around him so we wait til he’s driven off before we go out.
The buckets were supposed to be delivered today so we weren’t expecting them yesterday. It seemed like it took the UPS guy a long time before he drove off but we figured he was getting his next package ready or whatever and when he drove up and Vince went to the door, he said “Oh, my! No wonder it took him so long. He might have appreciated my help!”
So . . on the agenda for today is get one small raised bed built and maybe filled with dirt. Maybe we’ll even get the turmeric and ginger planted!

Have you ever looked into Earthboxes? I used them when I had a garden. My knees got too bad even for that, but now that I’ve had surgery. I’m hoping to get back to it next year. They are very good. I can email you pictures if you want. Just let me know if you’re interested.

I’ve seen them but what we’re doing with buckets is fairly similar.
