Last year we planted blackberries and, if all goes well, we may get a handful of berries this year.
We have 8 plants and they all have blooms but a couple are struggling with the high pH soil. Late last week, I added acidifier granules and will continue to spray them weekly with foliar iron spray. It’s supposed to rain today. That will help a little. Even our water has a high pH so rain is much better than well water but . . we do what we have to do.
This is one of our elderberries. They’re doing so great! We have 14 of these and at least 10 more from the cuttings I rooted. I’d like to get those planted now but . . we’re staying busy enough that I’m not even going to mention it to Vince. They’re safe in their pots.
Hopefully we’ll get even more elderberries than we did last year.
