A few minutes ago, I thought . . I’m ready for normal to return! Then, I realized, today is pretty much normal except Vince has not been wanting to go to town and that’s a good thing.
I got up early and finished making the masks. That whole thing tested my patience. I moved the sewing machine that wouldn’t work. I didn’t think I had another 301 that I could get to so I went digging in a closet. Couldn’t find one in there. Then I found one sitting behind some batting so I got it out. It must have been one we bought and never used because it wouldn’t fun at all. Then I got out the Bernina 1230 but I’m so used to sewing on the table where I have the 301 set up and my ironing board and cutting board is within reach. It felt awkward using the 1230. I switched over the Bernina 430 because it’s on the same table as the 301 and I could use the ironing board. Thankfully, I had one fast mask to make and one of the pleated ones to finish up. Got that done, got the masks boxed up and ready to send off.
The above mask is so easy to make but it needs narrow elastic and all I have is this winder one. I sent it to my contact at the hospital and if they like this one, I think I have some narrower elastic on order.
I sent the three pleated ones with the ties, with a pocket for some kind of filter and I’ll wait to hear back from him.
Came in the house and made dog food for Rita. Seven containers will get the little pig through about a month.
We’re out of bread so I made bread and added a little extra so I could make cinnamon rolls.
Here’s a hint if you like gooey cinnamon rolls: Just before baking, pour a little heavy cream around them.
I just took them out of the oven. Once they cool, I’ll ice them and that’s for dessert! For dinner, we’re having crack chicken over brown rice and green beans. I’m sure a slice or two of bread will be added to our plates!
Once the bread comes out of the oven, I have to go water in the greenhouse, get eggs, cut asparagus. Then I think I’ll be ready to serve dinner, then sit and knit!
