Through the years, I’ve nominated myself so many times for the good wife award. Tonight, I reluctantly admit that I deserve the bad wife award! 🙂
Vince loves junk food. I’m not the healthiest eater in the world but aside from plain potato chips, I mostly don’t buy junk food. I’m not above eating junk food but I like homemade cookies and homemade pies, cinnamon rolls, and the link. Vince will buy the saddest looking pie . . horrible looking pie crust . . if it’s marked down. Gross.
A lot of times, he’ll buy thinks that go in the freezer. It’s easier to “Fine” when we’re in the grocery store, put them in the freezer, and after a certain amount of time, I toss them and he never notices.
Now, extreme times call for extreme actions.
I’ve told Vince that when I open a freezer, the first thing I see is what’s coming out for dinner. The calzone was in a big, plastic looking clam shell, taking up a lot of room in the freezer. The other two things – some kind of buffalo chicken in a pretzel roll. We bought ’em . . we’re eating them and that’s what was for dinner, along with salad and brie.
It was quick, it was easy, there was nothing good about this meal except . . two packages are out of the freezer.
I’ll try to redeem myself over the next few days! 🙂

You’re going to have to do something much worse to earn the bad wife award.

I am guessing there are several of us with questionable items in our freezers! I’m using this time to eat out of ours, too.

Judy – my DH said this yesterday – “In 25 years of marriage, I think this is the first week where you cooked every single meal we ate. Not one restaurant or takeout – amazing.” He did not expound on whether that was a GOOD thing or not ! LOL

Just curious how many has he cooked?

I need some time to remember farther back than my brain is going this morning! :
But, I do get breakfast in bed quite often and that counts for a LOT!

I think you are a great wife and cook. What I am noticing is Keto has disappeared from your diets. You both were doing so well. You have added potatoes, flour and sugar back into your diets quite frequently and you were doing so well without them. I love following you and have for years. I will still continue because I love everything you post about. I just know and remember when you started Keto how well you both were doing. I just hope that you are both doing well and eating healthily. I am working on it but have other health issues than you have. Love you!

Good way to tackle the frozen but sure might provide for an interesting & unique meal! Two nights ago I pulled a bag of shrimp from the freezer. It had been there awhile so thought we’d have it for dinner with the fettuccine I just bought. By the time it was thawed I could see it was freezer burned as it appeared the pkg had been opened but not many removed (probably 4 or 5 to use in a bowl of ramen). The date on the pkg was a year prior and I’m not fussed over “xp” dates. Do you know how hard it is to trim freezer burn of size 31 shrimp? Ended up with about half of what I started with; dinner was lighter than it should have been, but in these times no one complained, we were happy to have it and use it. The taste was ok though admittedly not AS good as fresh.

You do what you have to do!!

Yes! We survived it . . but I’m betting he appreciates my cooking a little better right now.

I think you are a very good wife for preparing that stuff and helping him eat it that HE brought home.

Well, WHO put those in there? The bad wife award might go to Vince!
