Yarn Arrival

It was just my luck that all my yarn orders would arrive today. And, Vince would be with me when we met the mail lady. He was fine . . there were a couple of things he had ordered too so how could he complain about a few skeins of yarn?

This is a kit from Yarn Love that makes the cutest Halloween socks.

Miss Babs has a new fingering weight yarn – Putnam. Hot Shot was one of my favorite fingering weight yarns and Miss Babs was no longer able to get that yarn so it’s been discontinued. It was 400 yards/115 grams; 80% superwash merino/20% nylon. I suppose Putnam is a replacement of sorts, for Hot Shot. Putnam is 400 yards/100 grams and it’s 75% superwash wool/25% nylon.

I love all of Miss Babs’ colors and I really want them all but . . we know that isn’t going to happen. I did get three colors so I can try Putnam.

Eat, Sleep, Knit got in three bases from a new dyer, Kim Dyes. I wasn’t familiar with them but everyone was raving about their yarn so, of course, I had to try it.

This batch is for a sweater. It’s Shortbread DK. The gray is Starstone and the red is Oxblood.

This grouping is all Tartlet Sport. There are three skeins of Pacifica, the green on the left is Dill Chip; the orange one is Warmth; the yellow is Egg Yolk and the rose colored on the end is Berry. There’s a plan for this yarn and it will prove I’m crazy – the pattern is in German and there isn’t an English version. I’ve done a Google translation, which is a bit comical but it may help me enough. There’s a chart and that’s pretty universal so I shouldn’t have any trouble with that. We’ll see how it goes.

And finally – Sourdough Sock.

I’ll report back on my opinion of these new yarns after using them, and I’ll share the Halloween socks after I make those!
