The other night Vince found this video on you tube and sent it to e.
It’s entitled “Poor Man’s Lobster”. Even if you aren’t interested in trying it, the video is hilarious.
Tonight we tried it. I asked Vince, on a scale of 1 – 10, how much like lobster did you think it tasted?” He said “8”. That’s pretty good. That’s about what I would have said too. We used cod and it’s something we’ll make again. For sure it’s quick and easy to make so that’s a plus.
There’s not much fresh lobster in this area. Every now and then Aldi has frozen lobster tails but I’m happy enough with the fish.

We can buy Monk Fish up here is Seacoast NH and that is called Poor Mans Lobster. Does not work for me. Aldi’s here sells an entire frozen lobster 1 1/4 lbs for $9.99.

The frozen tails, and they’re small, are $14.95 here.

I bet monk fish would work very well cooked this way.

If you try it, let me know please.

Paul loved things like that. I wish I’d known about this then, and I’d have had him watch it and make it … just for him. I don’t want any. LOL

This is another of those things that I would love but hubby would turn his nose up at. The only way he’ll eat fish of any kind is deep-fried. He won’t touch lobster or crab at all. And to think, I always said I’d never marry anyone as fussy as my dad…I ended up with one just as bad, or worse!! I guess, since I’ve put up with him for 43 years….I should be used to it now! 🙂

I think I have some cod in the freezer so I’ll try this cooking method
Judy Laquidara says
It isn’t 100% like lobster but it’s not terrible (and it’s quick!)

I’m looking forward to trying this! Thanks for sharing!
