Yesterday after shopping at Aldi and Walmart, and coming home, then putting everything away, I needed a nap. I know better! I should have set my alarm but I didn’t. Four hours . . closer to four and one-half hours later, I was awake, knowing I wouldn’t sleep well last night and I didn’t.
It was warm in the house. Vince’s idea of a “comfortable” sleeping temp and mine are two different things. I asked him if he had checked the thermostat because I got in bed without doing it. Yes, he had. He said he set it on 65 degrees . . which was good but I knew it was probably set to heat and it was going to stay warmer than 65. We can set the thermostat for the heat to come on if it gets below 65 or for the a/c to come on if it gets above 67 (or whatever numbers we want) but this time of year, we usually leave it on heat.
Rita woke up at 3:45, wanting to go out, so I took her out. When I checked the thermostat, it was 70 in the house which probably meant about 75 or more in the bed with two warm bodies. I switched it to a/c, left it set on 65, went back to bed but tossed and turned for an hour and finally got up.
One mistake I made was looking at the tablet to see what time it was. Then I saw about the tornado in Nashville. I have a dear friend who lives very near Nashville so I began googling how far she was from the tornado, sent her a message to see if she was ok, couldn’t stop thinking about her so I knew I wasn’t going back to sleep til I heard from her.
Usually Vince wakes up if I do that but he’s still sleeping so that’s good. He needs the sleep. I have a load of clothes washing, the dishwasher unpacked. As soon as it gets daylight, I’ll run over to the shop fridge, grab a gallon of milk and get some yogurt started.
You can bet at some point today I’m going to want to take a nap but no way . . I need to go to bed on time and sleep through the night and I can’t seem to do that after a nap . . especially a four hour nap!

I have been taking a nap for the last 4 days. I never do that!! I only slept for about an hour each time but it was enough to keep me up last night! I went to bed about 11:45 and started reading a book in my Kindle. It was so good and is getting to the end of the book. I looked up and it clock said 2 something and I closed the kindle and went to sleep woke up again at 6!! LOL I think the CPAP said I slept 5:20. Today was knitting but I did fall asleep on the couch and it was only for about 30 minutes. I guess sometimes our bodies just need the rest.

I went in the bedroom today to take a nap but Vince was doing something and had about 2 tons of stuff spread out on the bed so that stopped my nap.

I hope your friend was far away from the activity. At 4:40 am, an alarm went off on my phone for a 20 minute tornado watch. Really? 20 minutes? It was windy for five and then starting raining … again! I was more concerned about a tree blowing down on my house for those 5 minutes. Then I went back to sleep. I would love to ship a couple of these rainy days to California where it’s really needed!

My husband has complained of not sleeping well lately. So I prepared him some sleepy time tea night before last and he rested all night long. Even after taking out the dog at 1:30am he went right back to sleep. Now he is sold on sleepy time tea and honey.
