On our land is an old concrete foundation where a building once stood. It was probably some kind of guard shack when this was part of the military base but we’ve not been able to find out what the building was. Vince has asked people who might have knowledge about the area, we’ve looked at old maps but for some reason, it intrigues Vince.
The old slab is pretty worthless I suppose . . not sure why Vince likes it so much. I guess it’s the engineer in him . . and he probably feels the same way about my affinity for yarn. He’s been cleaning up around it, clearing weed and brush. He said he wants to build himself a little “man cave” there. Not sure that will happen but if he wants to do it, he should do it!
Yesterday I went down to the end of the driveway and picked up trash along the highway and since I was in the RTV, decided to stop and explore around the area where Vince has been cleaning.
As soon as I saw this curved tree, I thought . . this is why he likes it out here! Vince loves trees and woods and that’s a pretty unique tree.
It is a neat area and I could see it being a fun place to hang out.

That tree does look like fun!! I have a thing for interesting trees too. My problem is that I like to take pictures of them but the pictures never seem to look like the real thing. Hope he enjoys the man cave, if or when it’s finished!! 🙂

I like trees like that, the snarlier the better. You wonder what makes them that way?? And the shadows they make.
