Thanks to a comment from a reader, I have an additional source for dry beans. I can find the “normal” beans in town but I can’t find anything other than very basic beans. Kroger used to have cranberry beans and I never pass the bean selection at the grocery stores that I don’t look to see if they have cranberry beans.
Frieda mentioned Rancho Gordo Beans so I found them online and they have all kinds of beans. I placed an order for three pounds each of lila beans, cranberry beans and yellow eye beans, which were also recommended by a reader in a comment. I’m going to try the yellow eye beans first!
Their beans are quite a bit more expensive than what I can buy in the store so I won’t be ordering anything except the beans I can’t find locally but it is nice to have a source for the not so common (in my area) beans.
I love it when readers recommend things they’ve tried and loved. Thank you Frieda and Osage Bluff Quilter. To Osage Bluff Quilter, do you buy the beans locally or do you order them? Thanks!
I’m happy to have a source for dry beans, especially the ones I can’t buy locally.
