Swallowtail was one of the sweaters ESK showed on Facebook the other day and I really wanted to make it. I know . . I want to make every sweater!
This is the one that was shown in fingering weight single ply yarn but I didn’t want the floats from the colorwork to show through so I ended up choosing a sport weight, or really more like a heavy fingering weight, single ply.
The yarn is Mrs. Crosby’s Satchel. It arrived yesterday, I swatched and think it will work ok.
I’m hoping that today I can get far enough to get into the colorwork to at least see if it’s going to work. If not, I’m not sure what Plan B will be . . probably there won’t be a Plan B, at least not for now, but I’m keeping my fingers crossed til I see how much shadowing there will be from those black floats behind that almost white yarn.

Ooh, what a pretty color! I just bought some Mrs. Crosby Steamer Trunk to make a sweater for my granddaughter, I hope it’s nice to work with! Won’t cast on until I finish the afghan since I want to have that done in time to take with me to Florida next month!

I don’t know about the colorwork, but I surely love that color you are knitting in the picture!
