Goodness . . this day has flown by and I don’t think I’ve accomplished a whole lot.
Vince wanted to go to town this morning. Last night . .
Vince: I think I’ll run to town in the morning. Do you want to give me a list of things you want?
Me: Do you want me to go with you?
Vince: No . . just give me your list and you can stay home and knit.
I grabbed paper and pen, wrote my list and gave it to him.
This morning when he left, I got busy – time alone . . it seemed almost like the old days when he went to work. I had clothes in the washer, scrubbed one bathroom, then went in the kitchen to fix breakfast and noticed the freezer door wasn’t completely closed.
Ughh . . I do NOT like that fridge. It has the freezer on the bottom and I know everyone else who has them loves them . . I do not. Apparently the ice bucket was too full and one of us got ice out last night and knocked a few cubes over the back so then the drawer couldn’t close tight. But, I can’t get behind the drawer to get it so I turned the ice maker off because it will dump with that drawer open and then I’ll have a lot of ice to retrieve from behind the door.
I tried using the long tongs . . couldn’t reach it. After about 20 minutes of messing with it, I got the vacuum cleaner out, pulled the end off the hose and had it flopping around behind the freezer and finally got all the ice out and closed the door.
Luckily, I had dumped some ice from the ice bucket into a bowl because most of it had kinda melted and it was going to be a giant clump of ice after I got the door to close right and it all refroze. So I had a bowl sitting in the place of the ice bucket and even with the ice maker turned off . . yes . . it dumped again. Oh, my goodness.
I then researched on Consumer Reports to find the best fridge, found one at Home Depot I liked, sent the link to Vince who thinks we should not get rid of a fridge just because “YOU” don’t like it. Hmmm . . this conversation may be over for today but it isn’t over for good.
Last week I had planned to make a swatch for the new Malabrigo Susurro so I got that done. So far, I’m in love but the swatch isn’t dry.
Then, the mail lady came and brought more yarn so I swatched that. It’s Lorna’s Laces Satchel, another single ply yarn.
Dang . . here it is 8:00 and I need to go make sure all the chickens got in. I noticed it was staying light later and the door may be closing too early. And, the gate was left open for the mail lady and I have to go close it.
A woman’s work is never done!

I made up for your day, although I should have accomplished a lot more. I got a couple of loads of laundry done today so we’ll be able to get dressed tomorrow and I got the quilt guild newsletter out. That’s a job! It’s after 9:30 and I still have to make the bed, since I washed that today as well. I will admit that I haven’t done dishes in a couple of days so my sink is overflowing, but it will get done. (Hate washing dishes!!) Never owned a dishwasher…Just keep plugging along!

That was a BUSY day, not as quiet as mine.

The vacuum was a clever idea!
