I love the evenings after a sunny day, when the sun is starting to set and just the tops of the trees are bright with sunshine. I don’t know what it is about seeing this that makes me always grab my camera and take a picture.
I get so aggravated with this place – the bugs, the heat, the drought . . but in the end, it’s pretty and I do love our place here.
Even the clouds are beautiful.
The rosemary is full of purple flowers and those flowers are covered in bees. I do think there has to be a hive somewhere close because every evening, the water container I keep out for thirsty animals is covered in bees. I wonder what honey would taste like if the bees had used a lot of pollen from the rosemary shrubs.
Yesterday Vince had been out working. I heard him drive up in the RTV and he honked the horn so I knew he wanted to take me with him and show me something. It was an interesting sight he had found while trimming limbs.
It is a fun place to live and I’m still happy we found this place . . 8-1/2 years later.

It’s hard to believe you’ve been there 8 1/2 years! Seems like yesterday when you were having so much trouble finding a home. Your photos were beautiful!

Beautiful! I love that you are still so happy where you are. (Refrigerator and being far from a certain little girl notwithstanding!) I feel the same way after 4 months, hope we’re still as happy after 8 years!

You have the best of both worlds now. How wonderful it will be when Addie wants to spend time with you in TX. Perfection!

The retreat center near here is quiet enough to hear the bees around the rosemary hedges. That’s a good question about rosemary honey!

You say so often that you are glad you have that place. It reminds me of all the times Paul and I had the conversation that started, “I’m really glad we bought this Arctic Fox.” LOL I love the evening, too, though we’ve hardly seen the sun more than a day or two at a time in months. I suppose people here don’t really notice, they’re used to it. But I’m used to seeing the sun about 355 days a year, and I notice! We had the sunshine today, and it was glorious, even though it was only in the 30s.

My husb and I recently bought an Arctic Fox; used it two trips, two nights each time so far. Hard to get time off, so glamping near home for now. Laura
