Vince likes to have a little time alone in the morning so he always gets up earlier than I do . . often thanks to Rita who sometimes wakes up around 5 a.m. If it’s that early when he gets up, I usually go back to sleep but if they get up around 7, I stay in bed for an hour or so reading email or a book or playing on the internet and giving him some alone time.
This morning while still in bed, somehow, I ended up on Hazel Tindall’s blog. She is an amazing knitter. I did buy her Benniegio Cardigan pattern. I went from her blog to other blogs and kept telling myself . . you HAVE to get out of bed and get busy! I could have looked at those blogs and the wonderful knitting all day!
When I did get up, I walked into the living room and told Vince . . I want to go to Shetland. He said “We can do that!” I said “But, I want to stay at least a year.” He said “What are we going to do with Rita and Boots and Cat?” Ugh! Responsibilities.
Then I decided we need to build a little rental house . . kinda like a tiny house but a bit larger. People could rent it monthly, or longer if they wanted to. Kinda like an air B&B but the rent would be really cheap and part of the rent would mean taking care of the chickens, Boots and Cat. Of course, we’d have to be comfortable leaving them in charge of our babies so I doubt that would all work the way I wish it would. I’m not even sure about Rita . . she seems to have an attachment issue but it might be that anyone she’s familiar with would be fine but not a lot of people would deal with a bind dog like we do.
See . . all I need is an idea and I can take it and run and in the meantime, all I’ve done today is wish I could knit like those Shetland knitters.

Probably because he knows how much I dislike traveling and is about 99% sure I would never do it.

Hazel Tindall is a delightful lady – I took a class with her last year when I was on Shetland on a knitting tour. She’s a fabulous teacher and her knitting is beyond fabulous! Shetland is well worth a visit but the weather can be really terrible! Its very beautiful though!!!
