Last night, I said to Vince . . “Tomorrow is Valentine’s Day!” . . kinda like I was saying “I hope you got me something nice” but knowing there are no Valentine’s gifts around here for anyone.
Vince: I got you a three pound cheesecake!
Me: You did?
Vince: I put it on Facebook yesterday.
So . . I went to his Facebook page.
Of course, it’s a joke. We don’t even have a Costco. But the funniest thing was the comment from his longtime friend.
Me: Did you see Steve’s comment?
Vince: No.
I read it to him and he said “Did he really say that?” Yep, he did.
We had a good laugh . . it’s a good thing we can laugh about it – good for Vince because some wives would be most unhappy about no gift on Valentine’s Day!

Wasn’t it last year when he showed you a card in a store and asked you to read it, then said since you had already read it there was no need for him to buy it? I thought of that story this morning when I signed the card I got my husband. The one I gave him last year is on my desk, I’m not sure why. I could probably recycle it and he wouldn’t know the difference.

He’s been doing that for every holiday for years. We hadn’t been married long and cards were about $3.00 back then and I remember the first time we were in Walmart or Target and he said “Here! Read this so I don’t have to buy a card!” WHAT? From several postings I’ve seen on Facebook, we’re not the only ones who do this.

No Valentine gift here, PLUS it’s our 30th anniversary. I’m sure he forgot. Oh and 1st anniversary of my new hip. It’s the Trifecta of anniversaries!!! Last year he told people he gave me titanium for our anniversary……(my hip). LOL

Ah, y’all can have it your way, but my Sweet Joe was a hopeless romantic. I miss him so much! He always bought me flowers, champagne, and took me out for a nice romantic dinner on Valentine’s Day.

We give a peck and a hug on Vday as we buy for each other all year long. If we see something the other likes or wants, its bought. Sometimes I get flowers, maybe candy. But going out to dinner is such a hassle on Vday that I would just as soon stay home and have a nice dinner, watch a movie in my jammies and listen to him snore while watching the movie .. LOL
