Vince went out this afternoon. It wasn’t even dark but Cat was sitting under her light. The light was not on but when Vince got close, she began meowing. She wanted the heat turned on so Vince went back and turned it on.
He came in and said “That darned cat demanded I turn on her light!” Then he looked at the thermometer outside and said (I’ll leave out some of the words he said! You’re welcome!) “It’s 55 degrees outside and she wants the heat on!”
I said “She got it . . huh?”
I’m beginning to think the best way for me to get a new car is to convince my husband that I shouldn’t use the old one because Cat likes sleeping on top of it. I think he’s much more likely to buy a new car in order to keep from inconveniencing Cat than any other reason I could think of.

If I didn’t go buy my own car when mine turns into a rattletrap I’d have been hitchhiking years ago. Good thing Cat is there & not here tonight. Supposed to be -29 wind chill tonight with a high of 15 tomorrow. Just the thought makes me shiver. Might need an extra quilt tonight!

Maybe you need to learn to meow.

This is so funny!!!

A cat’s normal body temp is about double that outside temp. I can see why she would want the light on.
Judy Laquidara says
Yes, but she’s gone from being a feral cat living in the woods, having to search for food and water, to being a pampered cat, now demanding heat when she previously had no heat, even with 40 or more degrees colder.

I was going to type similar to what Joyce said… we have a sign that says that in the house…
