After ripping out two different projects I’d started with the Cascade Eco Wool, I was pretty aggravated with myself. I’m usually pretty good at judging what I will like and what I won’t like.
Yesterday Rita wasn’t feeling great and wanted to go outside very early – like 5:15 a.m. As I was getting up, Vince said “I’ll take her out. I was awake anyway!” He got up with her and they stayed up but I couldn’t go back to sleep so I picked up my tablet and was trying to organize my knitting patterns on Dropbox. I came across a pattern, Avalanche, that calls for bulky weight yarn and even listed Cascade Eco as a suggested yarn. I love the pattern! Perfect – a sweater I like and use up the yarn that had me frustrated.
You can’t really see it all scrunched up on the needles but I do like it. I knitted on it all day yesterday, late into the night and I’ve just separated the sleeves off so it will go fast from here. I changed the center design a bit because there was a “ridge” going smack down the middle and I didn’t like that.
I’ve knitted enough that my left shoulder is aching so it’s time to find something else to do for a while.

That’s going to be beautiful! It’s a lovely gray, and I like the open design in the middle.
