Yesterday on the way to Abilene, we met the DOT trucks and they were spraying the roadway.
Vince: What the heck are they doing?
Me: It looks like they’re washing the road?
Vince: Why would they wash the road?
Me: I guess it’s dirty!
Vince: Isn’t it going to get dirty again?
Me: I keep vacuuming and the floor keeps getting dirty!
Vince: That has to be a huge waste of money – washing the road!
On the way back from Abilene, we met them again, going the other direction. That’s when it hit me . . they were pre-spraying the road for the ice/snow storm coming today.
We both laughed and decided it’s nice to live where spraying the roads ahead of a snow storm is a rare thing to see.

That’s what they do in our town it’s funny to see, but I guess it works.

Tx DOT has always been proactive in everything they do.
Dottie says
Hope y’all didn’t get too much of the ice and snow.

We see this all the time in PA and OH. They’ve been doing it for quite a few years now, and it really does help keep the roads in better shape when a storm hits!!

I hope the storm didn’t/doesn’t turn out to be too awful. I’m presuming that storm is what’s coming here on Friday and Saturday, because the temperature drops from the 60s to the 40s for highs those days, and there’s a snowflake for Saturday, but I’m doubtful of that. We get ONE sunny day between today (which was rainy all day, and not sunny!) and Thursday next week – it’s Sunday. I’ll be as surprised if we get that as I am if we get snow on Saturday. I’d really rather have one rainy day in the midst of all those days being sunny … like Avondale, Arizona this coming 8 days! LOL, miss my desert.
