There’s a little voice I keep hearing that says “Stop talking about Aldi so much!” but I can’t! I suppose, since I’ve never listened to that little voice much, there’s not need to start now, but for us, Aldi is so much more than just a place to buy groceries. We love seeing what we can find there – almost like a treasure hunt. We find the neatest things in there.
Chad and Nicole are big Aldi fans and they’ve found things there that I don’t find here. Chad had a really nice skillet with higher sides that I love. He said . . Aldi. He told me if I ever saw them in our store, to grab another one for him. I haven’t see that particular pan but did see a Dutch oven that is “light cast iron” with some kind of glaze on the outside. I bought one for the apartment, asked Chad if he wanted one; he did so I got one for him. I’m not going to open either box til I get them to MO so I’ll give a report on that pot after using it.
There’s a new Aldi in Chickasha, OK and I can see it from the interstate. I’m so tempted to stop in there on my way to or from MO just to see what they might have but I’m always in a crunch for time when driving. Abilene is getting an Aldi too. I’m still shocked that we got one before they did . . years before they did. According to our store manager, the one in Abilene is going to be much larger than hours, which makes sense, and it’s supposed to open in May.
These are cheeses we found that we were going to save for Valentine’s Day but I think they’re going to become part of our Super Bowl snacks.
Raspberries and White Chocolate, Mature Cheddar and Gin & Rhubarb. While I’m not sure I’d want the Raspberries & White Chocolate or the Gin & Rhubarb on a sandwich, or grated on my scrambled eggs but in the cheese melter . . yum.
Is it halftime yet?

I don’t mind hearing your Aldi stories. There are at least four of them within 20 minutes of my house. They generally all carry the same things. At least I think they do – I never check more than one at a time. The longer they’re here, the more non-food merchandise they carry. I will admit, though – they certainly carry some interesting things!!

I’ve gotten great finds at Aldi’s. My favorite is a plug-in cooler/warmer for the car. It can keep food cold or warm and has a 3-prong plug for indoors as well as the cigarette lighter plug. It comes in handy when we’re traveling. I’d been looking for one – just didn’t want to spend a lot – found this one for $40+ at my Aldi’s.

When we’re visiting/staying/or going through towns when traveling and run across an Aldi’s (not too far off the travel route) , we always stop….It’s amazing how many differences there are in what different stores offer.

We did! Just wish I could have been in MO celebrating with my friends. I’m betting it’s crazy in Kansas City tonight.

If you ever find a cast aluminum pot or pan, buy it! I love my ONE that I found at Aldi, and if I ever find another, I’m buying it, too. =)
