You may think two yarn purchases in January is bad but compared to previous years, I had made way more orders. This is weird – I just went back and counted. By this time in 2018 and 2019, I had already made 8 – yes 8, orders but in 2017, I only only made one order the entire month of January. Don’t you find that odd?
I think I already posted this but maybe I just thought about it – can’t remember. When I was working on my yarn organization last week, I came across the yarn for Nelchina. The pattern is for a pullover or a cardigan but the cardigan is going to take more yarn because of steeking. I had extra of everything but the main color, which is Cactus. And, it’s Madelinetosh Tosh DK and Cactus is a discontinued color. In fact, the colors I’m going to use are Cactus, Glazed Pecan, Porcelain and either Thyme or The Fox. I was going to say that I bought those yarns before I ever knew about all of Madelinetosh’s discontinued colors but I just looked back at the receipts and I bought them because they were discontinued and I thought they would work well together.
Anyway . . there were still a few skeins of Cactus left so I ordered three more skeins because (1) I probably need one more skein (2) It’s a color I love and (3) When it’s gone, it’s gone forever.
The color isn’t as dark as it looks in the picture. It’s a beautiful green and I’m happy to have a few extra skeins of it.

Maybe you made a resolution to buy less in 2017?

I’m not a knitter. What is “steeking”?
