The first quarter Knit Along for Eat, Sleep, Knit is to make anything by Tiny Owl Knits. Her stuff is so cute and it makes me smile but most of it just isn’t something I’d enjoy knitting or wearing. It’s like so many things in my life – I close the door but then after taking a second look, I find that I like more of it than I thought I did.
There’s a cabled, bulky shawl/wrap with a hood that interested me a bit when I first saw it but I kept going back to it and now am really excited to cast on and get started.
It calls for super bulky weight yarn but I have a bulky weight yarn, Cascade Eco, that I think will be great so I wound a skein yesterday. I have the entire first quarter to get this made so I’m going to try to finish the body of Persistence is Key – at least get past the cables, before putting it down and starting a new project.
There’s also an adorable slippers pattern that also uses a super bulky weight yarn and others have used Cascade Eco and it worked so I think I’ll make a pair of slippers for myself and for Addie, and maybe for Nicole too if they turn out as cute as I think they will. They’re felted and that’s always fun.

Is that yarn from them, so it counts toward something, too?
