I hope it isn’t wrong to talk about toilet paper on the blog! 🙂
We had just ordered toilet paper from . . I want to say Amazon but I wasn’t the one who ordered it so I can’t be sure. We generally will only order toilet paper when we can pay .25 or less per roll and sometimes Vince finds coupons or other deals but it’s getting harder and harder to find it for that price.
Last week we were in Aldi and they had big packages of toilet paper for $19.99. The package says “24 mega rolls = 96 regular rolls” so that makes it right at .21 per roll. I’m not sure if Aldi always has those big packs of toilet paper but we bought one package of strong and one package of soft to try it and see if it was as good as the brands we’ve been buying . . mostly Charmin or Quilted Northern. One of us (and it isn’t me) is way picky about the toilet paper. He liked the soft the best. We needed to get chicken feed – Vince was waiting for a discount coupon from Tractor Supply and he finally got it so today we had to go out and buy chicken feed and he wanted to go by Aldi and get more of the soft .21/roll toilet paper in case it isn’t something they keep all the time.
Who thinks we went to Aldi and bought only toilet paper? You’re right! We did get three packs of toilet paper so with the two we bought last week, that’s 120 mega rolls, or 480 regular rolls of toilet paper and with what he bought that came in last week – I have no idea but I will not need to buy toilet paper for a while. Last time we bought toilet paper, it lasted us about 14 months and actually, we still haven’t used it all.

Many, many years ago, a friend of ours told us they had run out of toilet paper one time and ever since that time, they made sure to ALWAYS have more than enough. They had stayed with us for awhile (waiting to move into their home) and that’s when the toilet paper issue came up – I think they brought about 200 rolls of toilet paper with them that we stored in our garage until they moved into their house. Running out of toilet paper would definitely “not” be a good thing to run out of.

Good to know. Last time I bought toilet paper it was at C*$tc* and I ended up putting it in the food bank box. .
I was at Aldi today and was going to try theirs but didn’t. I’ll give the small package a try now and see if it’s good enough for my picky granddaughter.

My son used to do this. He would buy the cheap kind and put it out when he had company and keep the good kind for him and his roommate! His last wife stopped that! She only wanted the good kind!!

Running out of and/or buying too much, not my favorite subject. But, I remember when you had the post about checking prices and buying an awful lot. Stopped me in my tracks when I discovered I was often paying $1 per roll.

Sometimes I buy the Aldi kind, but I don’t like it as much because it doesn’t tear nicely, especially toward the center of the roll. It’s definitely WAY better than nothing, though! I probably buy Angel Soft more than anything – moderate softness and nice tear-ability. =)

And I went to my Aldi store today (SW Mi) and that same package rang up at $13.99!! Score!
