Remember the last time I made chili and I didn’t like it at all? I used a seasoning mix that everyone else seems to love. My favorite seasoning mix is Williams and I haven’t been able to get it here. I did find it in MO.
My very favorite chili is my friend’s recipe, Preacher’s Chili. He is a preacher and he and his daughter put together a cookbook, A Few of My Favorite Things.
Steve has a cajun heritage and is an excellent cook and the recipes in this book are all amazing. I love the fricot recipe too. As I was packing up thing to take to MO, I was debating about whether to take my cookbook and leave it there but decided to order a second one so I could have one there and one here.
Preacher’s Chili is the recipe I’ve used for years. A couple of years ago, Vince told me it wasn’t his favorite chili recipe so I stopped making it but after I made that chili I didn’t like, Vince told me he didn’t like it either. He said “What about that recipe you used to make from your preacher friend’s cookbook?” WHAT? I didn’t say anything except . . I will make that recipe next time . . and that’s what I did yesterday.
Aldi had chuck roasts on sale last week while I was away so I came home to a fridge full of chuck roasts! 🙂
It’s for dinner tonight and I can hardly wait. I love good chili and I’ve always loved this recipe.
With the chili and the leftover pizza chicken from yesterday, we’ll have chili today, pizza chicken tomorrow, then chili on Saturday. We’ll grill steaks on Sunday and then I’ll have to cook again on Monday! I see lots of knitting time over the next few days.

That recipe is the only chili recipe I use–we LOVE it!
