I sent Vince this picture of the master bedroom at the apartment.
He said “It’s bigger than our bedroom at home!” and I said “No! There’s just way more stuff in our bedroom at home.” He asked if we were going to have that much stuff in the apartment and I said . . remember that this is temporary and whatever goes in has to some day come out and go somewhere so no . . we’re not having a lot of unnecessary stuff in MO. He can practice his minimalism there! 🙂
I hadn’t finished the curtain on the door yet. The bed had just been delivered. It isn’t going to be made . . I’m just going to put an old king size sheet over it. I will get a bed skirt . . should have measured and done that while I was there.
We have a nice mattress and box springs but everything else is going to be cheap, give away type stuff. I bought a three drawer small plastic drawer unit for each of us – Vince, Addie and me. That will hold all we need to have there – socks, underwear, pajamas. There’s a washer and dryer there and we can wash as needed.
I said I wasn’t going to get a headboard but that bed sure looks naked without one. I wish I could find a headboard with shelves on it. My grandma used to have one that had sliding doors! That would give us a place to put small lamps, tablets, water, Vicks VapoRub — the necessities for a good night’s rest!
The back door goes out onto a very nice screened porch with a concrete floor. The closet is nice. I told Vince he will wish he had a closet as nice at home.
Vince is not going to like the bathrooms though. He likes big, roomy bathrooms and these are tiny . . really too tiny. How much time does one spend in the bathroom? I say . . get over it!
Seriously, everything else is perfect. He can live with a tiny bathroom . . or should I say . . just visit where there’s a tiny bathroom.

How about one of your beautiful quilts instead of a headboard?

Have you checked Craigslist for a headboard? Or thrift stores when you go back. Looks nice and roomy.

Well Jacobs has a product called Pooh Potpourri!! Works wonders!! And it has a cute name!! LOL I do like your bedroom. I think they have those things you can just screw to the frame. That would work great!

Check used furniture stores for an older headboard.

The plastic drawers make a nice height bedside table, too. I have one in the bathroom because there was room for a bigger sink cabinet, but they put in a small one and there are no drawers in there!
